Building work on the new Hope Centre has now started
The Hope Centre is great news for Loughton as a replacement for the dilapidated ignite centre and vital new resource for the whole community.
All the community users of the previous ignite centre will remain, including Foodbank and children’s and youth groups. The Hope Centre will be attached to the church with a glazed link which will improve children and youth work and offer enhanced people flow for the 800 people of all ages who use the building 7 days a week.
There will be a new large hall, meeting room, catering facilities and a counselling room. The purpose is to open a new community space for Loughton and enable essential community services for all ages. St Mary’s is a church that wants to share God’s love in Loughton and beyond. This is about
increasing our capacity to do that in very practical ways, whether through toddler groups, lunches for the elderly or children’s and youth events and much more – we want to love Loughton through the Hope Centre.
We are a church seeking to serve people and the Hope Centre is about integrating church and community.
IT'S TIME TO GIVE HOPE
Thank you so much for such generoristy already.
We have raised a grand total of £900,127 so far for the project. This has mainly come for the St Mary’s congregation. We are very grateful to those who have given grants totalling around £60,000. Our overall target for the whole project is £1,071,000 so we will need to raise an additional £171,000 as soon as possible. This is so encouraging and thank you to all who have given. Our aim is to have paid for it in full by it's opening in September 2017. If you would like to give, please go to the Hope Centre Giving Page
